At SoundLyft ("we", "our", or "us"), we believe your privacy is fundamental. This Privacy Policy outlines how the SoundLyft browser extension and website (collectively, the "Service") handle information. We maintain a strict Zero-Tracking, Local-First architecture.

1. Summary: Core Principles

Zero Audio Collection: SoundLyft never records, saves, intercepts, or transmits your audio streams, microphone inputs, or video content. All DSP filtering occurs 100% locally in your device's browser memory via the HTML5 Web Audio API.
No Browsing Activity Tracking: We do not track, profile, or store the URLs or websites you visit.
No Personal Data Sales: We never sell, monetize, or disclose personal data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

2. Data We Process and Store

Because SoundLyft is engineered with local-first security, your data remains strictly on your local machine:

Local Preferences (On-Device Storage): When you adjust volume gain levels, toggle 10-band equalizer sliders, or enable Movie Night Mode, these preferences are stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your computer.
Pro License Verification: If you purchase SoundLyft Lifetime Pro, your license key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local to activate premium features. When activating a key, the extension communicates over encrypted HTTPS with our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments, to validate key authenticity. No media, audio, or browsing history is included in this verification.

3. Chrome Extension Permissions Justification

In accordance with Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, SoundLyft requests only the minimal permissions necessary to operate its DSP audio chain:

tabCapture: Required to route the active tab's audio stream into our client-side Web Audio DSP graph for amplification and equalization.
offscreen: Required in Manifest V3 to host an isolated, lightweight audio context that keeps sound playing smoothly without interrupting webpage video playback or freezing fullscreens.
storage: Required to save your volume levels, equalizer sliders, and Pro license status locally on your device.
tabs & activeTab: Required to detect which tabs are currently playing audio so you can view and adjust them in the popup panel.
contextMenus: Used solely to provide quick right-click shortcuts (e.g., "Boost 200%", "Toggle Night Mode").
sidePanel: Allows power users to open SoundLyft in Chrome's native side panel alongside web content.

4. Payment Processing (Dodo Payments)

Payments for the optional SoundLyft Lifetime Pro Pass are handled by Dodo Payments, who acts as our Merchant of Record (MoR):

Payment details (such as credit card numbers and billing addresses) are processed directly by Dodo Payments under strict PCI-DSS certified security standards.
SoundLyft does not receive, store, or have access to your raw credit card numbers or financial account credentials.

5. Analytics and Telemetry

SoundLyft does not bundle third-party tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or behavioral profiling tools. We do not run external tracking scripts inside the extension package.

6. Data Security

All network communications between the website and payment partners are encrypted using standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS). Because audio processing occurs strictly within the client-side Web Audio sandbox, your sound is protected by Chromium's native process isolation.
